Rudolf Steiner Health Center
The first inpatient anthroposophic medical center in the United States, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Originally constructed in 1916, this historic building sits within walking distance of downtown Ann Arbor and features warm, spacious accommodations. The center includes common areas and an art room on the lower level, with patient rooms and therapy spaces on the second and third floors. An elevator serves those requiring accessibility assistance.
Programs
Life Force Intensive Session
A two-week intensive therapeutic program for patients with chronic illness, cancer, or those seeking wellness restoration. Combines anthroposophical medicine with conventional Western medicine.
Fasting Weekend
Participants fast in a controlled setting with direct medical oversight, group activities, and educational sessions.
Internship Program
A program for individuals aged 18–30, providing exposure to anthroposophical approaches across medicine, nursing, therapy, and biodynamic agriculture.
Sustainability Practices
The center maintains extensive environmental commitments, including rainwater collection, composting, beekeeping, organic herb and vegetable cultivation, local farm procurement, homemade meal components, biodegradable cleaning products, comprehensive recycling, and material reuse programs. Staff are encouraged to bike, walk, or use public transit.
